ahhh yea mine is a 96 so yea, you can do which ever you think is easier. I do know that the opening in the dash is large enough to accomadate a drill to drill a new hole, but it might be easier to feed a new ground wire down to the seat. Personally i would try to make it as short as possible and go with the Dash.

What year 1500? I have one as well and i found it useful to drill a new hole in a metal bracket behind the stereo and ground there.

I knew I would get that from someone. LOL

It is a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and the amp is grounded to the seatbelt bolts. The radio is grounded to the factory harness ground wire. Over the weekend I will ground the radio to the seatbelt bolt and see if that helps. Thanks for the input. It has been helpful.

I've seen this as well on a few different vehicles ranging from GMs to Hondas... Definately a ground.

dont listen to am? thats my suggestion. :)

by Bwcad1 » Wed May 16, 2007 6:04 pm

yea i wouldnt be suprised.

by smoker » Wed May 16, 2007 5:57 pm

ive seen that problem with no amps at all and had to run the head unit ground to the battery

by Bwcad1 » Wed May 16, 2007 5:56 pm

ive actually aliveated that problem by ground amps to my seat belt bolts.

by smoker » Wed May 16, 2007 5:51 pm

is it a gm vehicle? they are notorious for that espescially on the am band.....ground the head unit, amps, batteries and if neccessary run a ground wire from the antenna plug all to the same spot
