i like to overclock computers alot and i thought i could cheaply overclock and amp but from what ive read the answer is no. i think full immersion cooling would look really cool and i may do something with that this summer.

class AB amps always run hot.
if you need a mono 2 ohm amp, go buy a class D amplifier. it'll run cooler, and it's made for what you're doing.
it'd cost more to rebuild the amp for lower loads than it'd cost to buy a new amp.

Best Heat Sinc i ever used was the TermalTake Big Typhoon... it kinda looks like an Engine hovering above the Chip... Its big ... almost didnt clear my case but it is awesome!

alot of modifications. measure the DCR of the sub coils chances are your amp will be ok at 2 ohm because of impedance rise.

use a relay i got that. next question what needs to be done to make a 4ohm amp stable at 2 ohm im pretty good with electronics and built amps when i was younger i cant remember all the theory but could definitely do whatever needs to be done im good with a soldering gun i dont need this i just think it would be fun to do

I agree with the others, use a relay...

The same goes for amps, if you're running more than 2 amps, use a relay... :happy055:

yeah they do when i first got it i didnt even use it cuz it ran so hot it actually warmed up my computer room. the temp dropped dramatically when i first installed this cooler so i decided to try to overclock it i couldnt do it with the first board it was in unless i upped the fsb couldnt change the multipliers. then i read more and i found out these cpus are multiplier locked but when i put it in this asus board i have 11.5x 12x and 13x have become usable

damn the old athlon 3200's run hot! that cooler you had worked pretty well then.

no ideas on the 4ohm to 2 ohm mod
im sure i could do it if anyone has any schematics or knows which parts need to be upgraded thatd be cool

ive used liquid cooling on several of my computers the spare kit i have is a kingwin awc-1 it seemed to work well on an over clocked amd 3200+ keeping the temp at 32 degrees Celsius under normal conditions and 42 under heavy cpu load. its a fairly simple unit has the pump water block then radiator with an extra fan i mounted on it. i was planning on using this old amp i have to test i was just wondering if anyone else has tried this as im not sure where to mount the water block

also would it be better to make an exhaust fan or have fans mounted to the heat sinks running air over them?

phase change cooling would be cool to try but really expensive.
