I didn't say it wouldn't, but I know they start getting really finiky at that low a levels so you gotta have every lil thing just perfect... heck just the atmospheric change in the car can make the difference in the performance level... Like you said, I've seen to many kids bring them in thinkin that there was something wrong when all it was is improper gain on these.
I'm not sayin it can't be done, just sayin that they get really touchy ;)

actually mike it will run at .35 but you would have to set the gains very low and your voltage would have to stay high.

by cargodz » Fri Mar 16, 2007 3:35 pm

.35 is too low as Bill stated... You'll find it constantly in protect

I think I will stick with the 1606 when I get it at 2 and then eventually get another amp that will put out more.

by Bwcad1 » Fri Mar 16, 2007 11:14 am

as long as the gains are set correctly with the load on the woofers you should be ok. .35 is a little low though i don't know if i would recommend that. I think the best load for you to run would be .7 ull get good power from your amp and you wont have to worry about over doing it.

x2 ^ an idiot friend of mine just blew a 1206 for, whatta ya' know? cranking the gains....stupid people annoy me

look on the site mang!!! http://tcsounds.com/tc3000.htm In the wiring diagrams, those are listed as dcr ratings.... but the nominal is .5 for the .35 wiring.

What are all the coil configs for a quad 2?

by swimmerdude » Fri Mar 16, 2007 10:16 am

Yes, the ratings listed by them are very conservative. They just dont want some kid give it 2k watts that are clipping to all hell.... that will probably kill the sub. Now 2k of clean watts, it will take it. Just make sure you take care of that amp.

Can a 3k take that power daily?
