Woo Hoo!... the Monte lives :)

Although I want to kick a GM engineers ass... can you believe they put the damn starter right over top of the crossmember with the wires coming in at the top... not to mention the stupid lil plastic cover and the sensor wires I had to unplug just to get to it... gotta love the classic GM overkill on everything.

Now for the really good news... looks like I burnt up the starter.
I had/ have to use this lil P.O.S. Cavalier to get around today and tomorrow, I'm gonna pick up a starter tomorrow.

my shhop gets so cold that sometimes i have to take the top off my forced air heater and manually prime the pump to get the diesel pumping.....

Semi trucks fuel will gel. If you have tank warmers than your may not be affected as bad. Once they gel..its hell most the time.

Hell if a driver stays on the brakes a lot the darn valves can freeze up due to condensation now thats a freakin headache. 4am in the morning and your at a wal-mart to buy a darn hair-dryer because you burnt yours out at 3am thawing another valve out. People look at you funny when your covered in nastiness and standing in line @ walmart with a 10 dollar hair dryer. lol

Went to start the beretta tonight as the buyer is coming Saturday...

Nadda, dead as a door nail... Well I guess the last time it was started was about 2-3 months ago... So I can understand...

So gotta take the battery back to Wal Mart for a new one...

my dad used to have an old diesel which had old basically useless glowplugs, on cold mornings i could wake up to frusterated* words. Now a new truck, and i can sleep in the morning

In the past with old carburated cars... I've actually went out and got on the ground with a hair dryer to thaw out the system... But in all honesty... I'm a lil to old and tired for that now :p

And real funny Joe... You know I mean fuel line antifreeze (or maybe you don't) :p

Sorry to hear about that. A trucker once told me about using one of those torpedo heaters to unfreeze gas lines of semi's that were at a truck stop, although I do not know how safe that would be.
