Bass boost is great at the right setting... which is "off" :p
The Bass dial on your current amp will however allow you to tune a little more to your liking, but don't crank it, otherwise like everyone else has mentioned... you will only add distortion.

Yep, just avoid it completely.

Question about Bass Boost

by GaryPham » Fri Jan 05, 2007 9:57 am

Hi guys, I have a quick question about the Bass boost knob on amplifiers. I notice that my old Amplifier (An Orion Cobalt CS150.2) had a bass boost knob while my current amplifier (Rockford Fosgate Punch 225.2) doesn't. Instead it has a "treble" and a "bass" knob. Is this bass knob the same thing as a bass boost knob? I notice when using a dmm that my voltage does increase when I turn the bass knob up. Does the voltage also increase when turning up bass boost in other amplifiers? Or is a "bass" and a "bass boost" knob 2 completely different things? Thanks in advance for your help guys.
