Well, you've got two different sized speakers playing the same frequency range and they're sitting next to each other. You could potentially run into weird phase issues, moreso if you've got them in your trunk since both the waves would have to travel farther. Just for the record, I've never competed and I don't have any plans to. :)
Google Ohm's Law. It'll give you the formulas. I don't remember them offhand.

why would you feel its half assed? its not going in a competition....its going in my work beater.....if i were to do it that way....what kinda load would be on the amp?

You can, but I personally feel it's half assed :)

I've got a svc 4ohm diamond audio 15 and a dvc 4ohm 12....I was curious...is there a way to wire these to the same class D amp or will i have to run to sep amps?... the 15 can handle 250 rms and the 12 can handle 300...any ideas?
