not much different really.
just an additional little module you need to screw to the firewall or an inner fender, and connect the wires for.
simple as that.
there's a screw adjustment on many of them to set the output voltage, so you can tweak that setting manually.

Well, tardo here (that's me) doesn't know the first thing about hooking up an alternator with external regulation. I can swap an alty no prob, hell I can even put two alts in and take out an AC pump/pulley to accomplish that feat, but again, all using internal regulation.

So, that brings me to the question, how much of a task would it be, and what is involved installing an alty with external regulation?

Yah, I'll be here for a while. I've found myself going between this, CAF, and the SS forum, because the traffic ain't enough. So I just go to all three. :)

why would you even want internal regulation? no control over output voltage that way.
