I had to use a ground loop isolator a long time ago. It pluged right ibetween the deck RCAs and the RCAs to the amp.

what exactly are those/how do you install them? i have the same problem as him and ive tried numerous times to sand down the ground point and use different screws, heads, etc...i get the same problem.

you can try using a noise suppression or ground loop isolator. radio shack carries ser=veral.

Was your system just installed or has it been installed and is just now making noise?

by mitchpowers » Fri Dec 24, 2004 5:34 pm

I tried a different ground point yet it continues to do the problem.

by GlassWolf » Fri Dec 24, 2004 3:20 pm

yes, or try using a ground loop isolator.
best bet is a different ground point.

by mitchpowers » Fri Dec 24, 2004 3:19 pm

so do i need to find a better ground?

by GlassWolf » Fri Dec 24, 2004 2:42 pm

I know the sound he is describing. that is a ground loop.

sounds like its a signal problem. could be caused by a ground loop, or the rca's are ran next to the power wire. they need to be ran on separate sides of the vehicle, and your ground needs to be against bare metal, on the frame of the car, not a screw or thin sheet of metal. try those, and see if that helps. in some cars, its really hard to find a good ground.
