bass boost is kind of a personal thing....i prefer not to use it but some amps wont make any noise with it turned all the way down if there is no way to turn it off......

Just kinda funny you got them pesky filters mixed up :sm29:

Nobody is trying to bust ur balls her.

No problem man, thats what we are here for. I would listen to it at a little below normal for a week or so, and go from there.

im new at this, not trying to be an asshole just tryin to learn, anyways i did what you said, my sub wasnt using any fliters for awhile but now that i put the low pass on, how long do you think it will take to break it in a little bit?

by JeremyC » Sat Jun 17, 2006 12:33 pm

Wait, lets look at the words. LPF Low PASS Filter. It ALOWS low freqs to PASS thru, and filters the others.

HPF blocks low frequencies...

;)

LPF blocks low frequencies, i thought i would want to block high frequencies if i was using a woofer.

Bass boost is going to increase your chances for distortion and clipping. If the bass is not loud enough for you, try a ported box or more power. Otherwise use the bass boost at your own discretion. For a sub use the LPF or low pass filter. Set it at 80 or less.

Just finished the install, and one thing i always notice when reading some topics is you guys don't use the bass boost on the amp. can u guys tell me why that is, and should i be using a LPF or HPF if i mostly listen to r and b / rap.
