wanna see what a set of beautifully made fiberglass kick panels look like? I'll post pics tomorrow of what my glass guy did for our show car.

The pictures don't really do them justice, he did an amazing job.

Im starting to fiberglass a set of 6x8's for a friend( for what reason i have no idea, i wish he would just spend the money and buy some to replace his factory speakers). I am going to do the MDF ring and glue to make the coaxial speakers face toward the driver's and passenger's seat. Is that basicly all that is needed to attach them to the kick panels or do i need to find a better way to do it? Thanks

you can make some kick panels pretty easily by using the factory panels to start with. make a ring out of mdf that will accomodate the speaker you want to mount and then position them on the factory kick panel at the angle you want them, using small blocks of wood glue or screw them in place and then use fiberglass reinforced body fill to achieve your shape, this is the time consuming part because you want both sides to look similar and depending on whether or not you are going to carpet, use vinyl or paint determines how smooth you want your surface to be. i have done this a few times in the past and with very good results too.

you could cut round rings out of mdf and glue em together to make a box. It would look better than square ones. I may do that If i cant find kick pods for whatever car I have when I get comps

Hm..perhaps you could experiment with some fibreglassing yourself then? BTW..do you own a shop of some sort?..i see the Stinger Authorized Dealer tag..

q-logic should sell something that fits your needs..I'm not sure on the site...might just wanna google it. I've heard good things about their pre fab kicks.

Hmm, i guess this thread has given me motavation to build my on kickpanels. No one has any pre-fabs out there for a 1990 dodge daytona. If you no of any place that does post the links/info please!
