Honestly, a pair of ported RE8s should provide a fairly reasonable amount of output for an SQ oriented system. People forget that balanced sound reproduction doesn't really require a great deal of displacement, since the limiting factor is nearly always the components or coaxials being used, and not the subwoofers...

RE's would be good in his car, IF youre on a budget, for a little more you can step it up to an se or sx, they would be louder , go lower, and hit harder than the RE's. but there great for the price non the less(i think around 60$?)and the mb quarts sound great, expensive but great, personaly i would spend less on something equally good or get a real GOOD deal on them.

sure. should sound nice.
not a tremendous amount of bass, and not really deep, but it'll be tight.

friend of mine is wanting to get two RE 8"s in his Mustang, he wants a good SQ system. should he go ported or sealed? also what amp would you guys recommend? he is looking at a JBL amp or 2, but suggestions are welcome. he will also be getting some MB Quart Reference series components and a JBL 80x4 amp. think this will be a pretty good set up?
