looks like i may have a competitor this year! probably not in my class but i wonder if my 2 18's will be as loud! if i get the jimmy finished! the blazer i dont think can beat that its only a single 15 in a 4.5 ported box with xxxx watts of power. lol im not realeasing that number yet

Like i say, I can't remember the exact measurements. I built one of these a year ago to put the promax 12 in and it did good, for one sub in such a large enclosure. No port whistle or anything.
Would have got 1st place at that event if a damned box chevy owner wouldnt have taken his back seat out. Oh well. He only beat me by 1 dB and he had 2 15s and double the power.. hehe.

larger ports help eliminate port whistle though.. for twelves in a high output box you want at least 4" ID port diameters.

A large port isn't always better. The correlation has to do with how much power you are giving the subs (or really, their excursion).

yea, kinda. It'll definately get loud though, with the right amps. The differance between that pic and what I'll be doing is I'll be completely sealing off the B pillars and back. I already have the "dance floor" and the piece to seperate the trunk from the cabin (not that it's really needed). This setup will probably last less than a year. When I did the measuring (it's been a while), it seems like I may be able to put 4 more 12s in there, 2 on each side (4 per enclosure).

I just want to see what kind of numbers I'll do with it before jumping on adding more subs and amps.
