Fiberboard works but isn't as dense as MDF is. MDF is the choice made by all shops (including mine). I would use MDF over that any day.

well i searched all over my town, none of the lumber places sell MDF they all tell me "are you making a speakerbox? for last 30 years people have came here and used this High Density Particle Board" blah blah blah.....i can get a big ass sheet of it for like $21, would this work fine? the box will be built for a Tempest, in a 4^3cf tuned to 28hz, with 150rms to 300rms to it. i can however go to another town that has a Home Depot and get some if i really have to have it. i want to do this right so let me know.
