just wire your subs to give the amp a 4 ohm load and youll be good to go.......4 ohms is fine.....the scenario you described harkens ( like that? how often do you get to use that word?) anyway it harkens back to the day when amps that were 2 ohm stable stereo were only 4 ohm stable bridged.....so you are right but wrong at the same time. i dont know of any amp that wont run 4 ohms when bridged....

first of all, my amp is a 2 channel(MTX942.2)- 940x1@4ohm(bridged) i need to run this amp bridged to actually move my subs ;)

anyway i have 2 kicker cvr DVC both are 4ohm, and my wiring options are either 1ohm load or a 4ohm load(correct??)

and when i first got into this i thought you just matched up the ohms from amp to subs(which you usually do) but now i find out that when an amp is bridged, it halves the ohm load, so a 4ohm load will become a 2ohm load to an amp, so the amp puts out the power at 2ohms(riiiiight?)

so basically my set up won't work , and i need to get a different amp (correct?)
