I dont know about the whole driving too close thing, never happened to me. But on the exhaust thing, cops will pick at people about it because there are very few products out there that are california legal. These products are called CARB legal. If you have any exhaust that is cat-back, it is legal. It affects nothing for smog. Headers and cats is a different story, they must be CARB legal whenever you are at a smog check..... ive read about people who dont always follow the rules though, happens everywhere, lol

Another thing i know about california is that they will just pick on certain people. My brother moved down there with his supercharged marauder and he got pulled over when doing nothing wrong. Pulled out on a street, saw the cop, and just accelerated slower and the cop just pulled him over. after sitting there for about an hour and a few other cop cars coming to check things out, the cop said he pulled him over for having too loud of an exhaust(which was a completely stock exhaust). After talking with people and researching, the concensus was that cops do a lot of racial profiling in california. My brothers car was all black, chrome wheels with a few window decals on it. So it stuck out in a cops eyes i suppose but there was nothing wrong with it.

Just some food for thought i guess. Hopefully you can fight the tickets and it will blow over, pretty dicky move of the cop i'd say.....

And in this case you may actually want to take it to court to get out of the ticket unless it means losing more taking the time off work than just paying the ticket.
it says on culver/california. i was coming off culver making a right onto california.

[quote="MobileAudio219"]Was there no right on red???
Maybe he had no intention of pulling you over until he thought you were following to closely????
Note: I'm not saying youre quilty, I'm just asking the question that would probably be brought up in court..
Because the ticket simply says "following to closely" it'll probably be hard to fight.. I would get a lawyer...[/QUOTE
yeah dont worry i know what ur saying. no there wasnt any right on red. i always makes rights on that street so does everyone else when its red. about the lawyer i dont think ill get one. i cant afford to get one being that i am in college. ima fight it on my own.

What if he was coming to a 4 way stop, and he was making a right (yielding instead of stopping) at got a little to close to the car in front of him during the turn???
Maybe it was just a regular turn and the car in front of him turned as well and he got a little close during the turn...
I'm not saying he's quilty, I'm just not assuming he's innocent.. Haha, I love playing the jury... :D

How can he be a judge of an assured clear distance on a turn when obviously it was at a slower speed and you have to break for a turn... Hence the braking.
Does it actually state that on the ticket... If so, you may have a shot of fighting it.
on the ticket all it says that i followed too close.

shouldnt he have pulled me over just as soon as it happened????
