It's pretty easy.

Our regular price on the custom short rams is $129.00 and the cold airs start at $189.00 (specifically for the Lancer would be normally priced at $209.00) with tubing available in over 40 different colors and connectors in 12 different colors.

You can get a drop in k&n filter and mod the air box and it would be just as good as the short ram intakes at probably 1/3 of the price...

Then you can save the rest for your new system!

I've sold more Airaid than either K&N or Injen and it's mostly due to the price... We also have a company that makes us custom short and cold air intakes for people that either have vehicles that they aren't available for or want something in a different color than the standards.

agreed, and sometimes the stock box and location are ok, for example in my stang the stock box is fenderwell mounted and with a few mods, a k&n filter and new piping to get rid of the factory corrugated plastic piping with smooth pipe would be perfect...im not a fan of the short ram because it flows more air sure, but its hot engine bay air.......so id mod your airbox, new piping, new filter and remove any air silencer...

Honestly, on an otherwise stock car a "cold air" set-up isnt not going to make an noticeable difference in power...

I'd just get a drop in k&n filter and be done with it (which would save you ALOT of money.)

If you want more of the "perfomance sound" you can mod the air box, it would suck in more hot air, but probably no more than most "cold air" kits.

Thats my opinion anyways...

Short Ram or Cold Air intake

ive put my plans to buy a sub to the side for awhile (pretty happy with the new hifonics amp that i got from keith) and im looking to instead upgrade my engine. im looking for either a short ram or cold air intake for an 02 mitsubishi lancer OZ rally 5 speed manual. preferably made by injen or K & N. been looking around and a short ram costs me about 240 and a cold air about 280. any one know where i can maybe get it for a lesser price or something thats comparable to injen or k & n for a cheaper price? thanks guys.
