I own the JBL bp600.1. I used it for about 7-8 months until the accident, LOL. Anyways, I blasted my music all day long, never had any problems. The ground disconnected while getting full power from the battery during the crash. Im going to see if it still works....

well

will the longer xmax of the SX subs have any positive effect over the SE subs? Because if gettin the SX and puttin em in a large box will be louder than the SE in a normal box ill get them, they will be ran at the same 600 watts. but if not, why should i pay more money for the SX subs ifthey wont be any better than the SE since i can only put 600 watts to each at the moment.

Will it be louder and sound better because it has a longer x max.

X-max has absolutely nothing to do with sound quality. But generally most sound quality subs have a lot of x-max for some reason.

Will it be louder and sound better because it has a longer x max. even though it will be getting the same wattage. I saw sql on RE's site, id guess that stands for sound quality / loudness or no? I listen to rap and rock but my rock never has enough bass which is why im thinking of doing a large sealed enclosure, tell me if im wrong here but having a large sealed enclose will allow the sub to fully excurt with less power than a small sealed box correct? So I will still be getting the benefits of a better sub and using less power or am i wrong?

uhm loudness and sq wise..those are kind of two different things.

if you put them in a ported box it will be louder.
if you put them in a sealed box it will sound tighter but wont be as loud.
really though if you listen to rock mostly even 2 12"s in a sealed might be too much bass for you at times.

depends on what you're looking for. you gotta choose, SQ, SQL, SPL.

question

Would It be better (loudness and sq wise) to get 2 RE SE 12s and give them the rated power in a sealed box or
Get 2 RE SX 12s and give them 600 watts in a large SEALED box. I dont want to
port my box, im just paranoid about it not sound as good as i want it too.

Good Idea. Cheaper that way.

by audiobass10 » Thu Oct 21, 2004 5:25 pm

Yea Kevin, I'll most likely go w/ a large ported box and the 600.1.

by Mercedesbends69 » Thu Oct 21, 2004 3:23 pm

Don't put them in a huge ported box and then give them 1200 watts, they don't need it. If they are going in a huge box then they only need the power from the 600.1. If it's going in a smaller sealed box then you can give them the 1200.1.

you need

by Mithrandir » Thu Oct 21, 2004 3:06 pm

you need 2 sets, ur left rca plugs into one set right into the other, then just match em up the same way on your amp, 1200 will be nothing to that sub, just dont put it in a huge ported box and you should be fine and dont turn the gain up higher than it should be.
