The rest of the settings pretty much depend on what you are amping and at what range, so it's gonna be different for every application...(highpass, lowpass, full, tuning hertz, etc.)

by solacedagony » Mon May 21, 2007 6:28 am

RTFM or Google on the other ones?

other settings on the amp sry for nnot being cclear....i gpt the gain right

by jonnyb » Mon May 21, 2007 4:23 am

what do you mean the other ones? the other settings on the amp, or DMM?

by k0rnyfr33k » Sun May 20, 2007 9:47 pm

ok i got the gain set but what about all the other ones??????????????????????? well yea

by jonnyb » Sun May 20, 2007 5:17 pm

yea, the setting on a DMM for AC Volts is a sine wave with a V under it.
you have to figure out what your AC voltage should be on the speaker outputs of the amp.
to do this, multiply the wattage output of the amp by the total nominal impedance, and then find the square root of that.
for example.
2ohm load, 1500W output = 3000, square root of that = 54.77.
and that would be your voltage.

eh, you said you got the equations figured out, but hey.

be sure you disconnect the speakers when setting the gains this way.

well, ac is alternating current, which is similar to an electrical outlet in your home, except a home outlet is quite a bit more power and is at a constant 60 hz or cycles per second. Your amp is supplied with dc or direct current and creates an amplified ac current. I dont believe there is a symbol for alternating current (though im far from an electrical engineer) hope that helps a little

i know that......but whats ac and all that iv never used a multimeter before theres symbols and all that

set it ac volts

Ok I Got All The Equations Worked Out....but What Do I Set The Dmm To It Has Diffrent Settings?
