try housecall.trendmicro.com and http://www.pandasoftware.com

they have free scans.

If you want, try Spyware Doctor. It works really well from what I find. Don't forget to put it on Heuristic mode (hidden in the options somewhere).

avast.com. or internetfrog.com Avast offers free anti virus and spyware, and internet frog offer the same. internet frog will also run checks on your system for you.

I personally use Yahoo's Anti-spy and it does a great job and allows me to do a complete check up when ever I like with reminders... Just my 2 cents.

I'd use Zonealarm. Zonealarm will let you know ANYTIME something tries to use your internet connection for something. You can probably then start figuring out where it's hiding.

Yes I got a student version of professional when I was in college, so its not hacked or anything.

I dont know what to do. It just keeps popping up like a mofo when it starts.

zero fill your harddrive.. it will get rid of EVERYTHING.. its like reformatting x10... is your copy of XP valid? pm me and let me know.

by joeyc » Sat May 05, 2007 12:27 pm

I always download the critical updates from microsoft, hardware drivers, and whatnot before I format. Put all of that on a disk and use it when you reinstall BEFORE hooking it up to the net. If I'm not mistaken you can make a rollup install with the windows update.

by solacedagony » Sat May 05, 2007 11:33 am

You have to install anti virus, firefox and zone alarm before you even put your computer on the net after reformat. It takes only minutes for spyware to start hitting your computer JUST HOOKED UP TO the internet. Not even having to surf.
A full drive format erases everything, period.

by Ryan from Ohio » Sat May 05, 2007 10:40 am

Yup.

Im assuming its something that hid in some area thats not affected by format.
