Yeah IRRC the Brits went in there and divided things up, really screwing up ethnic and cultural boundaries. The Iraqi Kurds probably SHOULD have their own country, but that would scare the hell out of Turkey which has a sizeable Kurdish population of its own to deal with.

I'm not saying that being in Iraq because of oil interests is a bad thing. In fact I think its a perfectly legitimate reason for being there. Imagine what $200 a barrel oil would do to this or any other industrialized country and its people. Can you say "Economic Terrorism"?

Sure Saddam was a very bad bloke, but the world is full of oppressive tyrants. You don't see us overtly taking them out. I think in Iraq Bush saw an opportunity to make a difference and instead of sitting on his ass he acted.

The right decision? Doesn't really matter. We're committed to making the best out of a potentially disastrous situation.

haha anytime jeremy. i get so tired of hearing were in there because of oil or this or that and it kills me that people miss that point. that son of a bitch used chemical weapons on his own people. there is documented proof of him raping stealing and killing his own people Y DO YOU THINK HE WAS HUNG? just because we invaded? u guys can whine bitch moan and complain about bush but ur not getting raped killed or murdered by your own leader. i know some of you will say well the terrorist will try to kill us because of bush but i got news for ya. they hated us long before bush.
