i was told from someone on this forum that for now, the head unit will be enough to power the speakers i was getting

Well what you heard is probably pretty accurate... concentrate on your fronts and save the money you woulda spent on rears to put towards a decent lil amp to push the fronts with ;)

Personally, I would take the rears out and concentrate on your sound stage.

what does everybody think about my speaker situation? will replacing the door speakers be enough? or should i do all 4?

thanks, thats kinda what i was thinking, but wasn't sure. and hey, if its free, ill take it, maybe upgrade later. i was gonna set it up with a pioneer h/u and speakers. i have a question about the speakers though...i was told that i might not want to bother doing the rear speakers (its an extended cab Tacoma) because the sub back there will drown them out anyways. would i be ok with just doing the door speakers? or will having the rear ones make a difference?

i didnt get the amp from them yet because they havent taken it out and its getting some work done, all i know is that its a kicker
