The tranny is a stock t5.

And yes I know, the t5's are crap. I'm going to rebuild the one out of the 87 so I always have a spare. :happy055:
I'm keeping the fuel injection. Like I said, the motor and all its accessories (intake, tb, heads, headers, and also the computer) are from the 87, which should increase the horsepower from 200 to 225.
With this motor there isnt any need to switch to mass air, but when the new motor (maybe a 347 stroker) I will have to convert to mass air because I plan to run a bigger cam... Really though, until you start messing with the injector size and/or cam the speed density isnt a horrible set up, in fact stock vs stock the speed density makes a few more hp than mass air...
I could pick up a 96 5.0 explorer motor, do a little port and polish work on the heads and intake, run a small cam, and do the usual bolt ons for around a grand and be pretty close to 300 rwhp while maintaining the speed density... which I might do! Ahhh, the decisions.
