Ahhh them Punch series were OK.

They hit pretty good in reccomended box size, but the reccomended size was a bit small and lacking on the low end.

No. It's a picture hosted on my website. No spyware. I haven't gotten into anything expensive yet since I'm still experimenting, but the box is 1.9 cf per side. There are 2 12" lightening Audio subs in it. Yeah I know they are cheap, but I'm not going to spend a lot of money until I figure out exactly what I'm looking for. Each sub is powered by it's own 600 watt amp bridged and the system is running at 4 ohms since the amps are only 4 ohm stable.

my old setup 2 10" fosgate punch subs. Really not all that great!

When you get into a situation like this you need to just figure your port volume instead of saying 2"x12"x length.

Ah yea, I consider the fact that you may have also changed the tuning. I'm not sure if volume and port are a ratio. If they're a ratio, then you didn't change the tuning. If they're not, you did.

angling your ports also changes your tuning what subs do you have in it. what is the air space?

by solacedagony » Mon Jan 29, 2007 1:13 pm

Probably because the subs aren't sharing air anymore. More box volume will give you a higher gain.

Ok I've been working on this box and have it built for 12" subs. I ran it without the devider in the middle and it bumped pretty good. I put the devider in the middle to keep the speakers from fighting eachother since they are on seperate amps, and now the box dosn't hit quite as hard. For those of you who know what you are talking about, what is wrong with this type of design? I was thinking the angeled ports would help to leingthen out the wave as it passed thorough the port and reduce port noise.
