Ok here's another...
One time, long time back I ran across this kid that didn't know why his sub wasn't working... Someone told him he had to run RCAs from the back of the deck... so he did... Sounds good so far, but I ask him if he's sure he has a good ground for the amp.... He says "Amp?... what's the amp?"... No I'm not kidding.... I say lets go take a look and when I do, sure as hell, he actually took the RCAs and cut and stripped the wires and had them hooked directly to the sub inputs.
Apparently he bought the box and sub from a pawn shop and had No Idea... so I spend the better part of an hour explaining to him everything and he decides he's just gonna give up on car audio, cause it's to complicated and expensive.... :p

Mam, This thread is just making me roll one the floor laughing. Its just like the lady that was so happy about her computer having a built in cup holder, but she did not know where to put the cd's in!

I can hear the answer Darthness...
slowly creeping in my ear

*Mary Poppins* A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down....
So apparently its a coke can with sugar
I have seriously forgot what the point of this thread was now lol

grounding an amp to a deck lid is a common thing around here. its pretty sweet to see the sparks fly when you lower the deck lid slowly. and a video camera has what liek a 1amp draw.

did i say there was anything wrong with grounding a camera to the trunk? im talking about an amp which draws far more current.

by justaghost » Sat Jan 13, 2007 6:23 pm

whats wrong with using a trunk lid as a ground? I have my rear view camera grounded to my trunk lid under the liner (paint is removed ofcourse) and it works just fine. I wouldnt use it to ground an amp, but for the camera its ok.
