Damn our minimum wage is like $7.75

If it makes you feel any better... At my first job I was making something like $2.00-$3.00bucks an hour and happy to get that :)

You always got to start somewhere. I worked for $5.15 an hour for about a year, then that was bumped up to $5.50 an hour (whoa! -lol). In 3 years time, I finally got to $7.50 an hour. Only now am I making $10 per hour.

Congratulations man, I know you were really worrying there for a little while about getting a job. Sucks but you have to start somewhere.
Just remember its only temporary so who cares :)

My fiance works @ wal-mart and she has previous experience and stable work history. They started her at 8.85 within 3months she's at 10.15/hr.
So you can always improve. She'll probally get promoted to manager at the rate she is going within a week (exagerating a little). Its unreal though.

Depends on what kind of welding yuo get into really.

Being in the trades Ive seen a lot of welders, people that is.

Production welders around here get about 10-15$ for seasoned well trained workers.

Job Shop welders tend to get $1-2 more hr.

Own your own shop- make a ton of money, but put in a TON of hours...
