i've got 2 12s and my 1 kicker 15 really puts it to shame and I have a feeling its all because of my haggard box

after building a ported box for my hoopty winter beater...i've come to realize i like the sound of a ported box....so while the srt-4 is down for the winter i want to make a nice ported box for it...previously i had a 4 in piece of pvc in about a 1 cub ft box....the directions said a 4 inch port with a 1.2 cub ft...i had read later i think on crutchfields website that the measurements were wrong...can anyone tell me how big the box is suppose to be and the size of the ports?
