First let me say sorry for your loss and that I am glad to see you taking it in the right direction in promoting the anti-drunk driving cause.
I think more people need to be better informed on what the their own limits are when just getting a driving license, rather than just showing some stupid lil video of the aftermath.
I say this from experience... because about 8-9 years ago I got a DUI... blew a .104 (which was just over at the time) now the law stands at .08 in Ohio. I was not plastered and thought that I had not pushed my limits, but I was wrong and admitted guilt as I have always supported MADD. I went to a 3 day DUI program and can tell you that for the people like me that took it as a learning experience, it was very helpful and very informative. These types of classes IMO should be something for ALL to learn... not saying that everyone needs to be locked up for 3 days to learn it, but should be a major part of the education of getting a license... especially when you have kids that aren't even old enough to drink getting DUI's. I now know my limits and will NEVER exceed them.
After my experience in the classes I wrote the judge and actually thanked him and passed on some of what I've stated here... and you know... he actually called me and asked me to come back to his courtroom... so I did.
That day there was a class taking a feild trip to the courtroom and he called me up to the bench to make my statement as I did in the letter I wrote him and then gave me back my work driving permit.
Keep up the good fight!
