I've even had both companies upgrade me to a top model board before due to being out of stock on my models.
I'm going to call them and see what I can do about getting it repaired if it's not going to cost much, I've just been lazy around the holidays. I bought a brand new one for just 50$ to replace it with. Can't hurt to have an extra one laying around. I have one of everything else (almost) laying around lol.

Some do, and if they aren't set in the right position, you can't reload the bios.

my mother used to call me a dipswitch :)

Just out of curiosity, what kind of Heatsink did u get?

Got everything squared away now. New motherboard in. Ended up having issues with Windows thinking that my backup drive was corrupt, so now all my backup stuff is labeled File0000.chk, File0001.chk.... on my harddrive. That's 23,000 files I need to go through. Good thing I found a utility that'll rename the extension for me. I'll still have to figure out what each file is though.

Nope. I've updated it before. You just stick in the CD and it updates and reboots. Takes just a few seconds.

My vid card BIOS goes through and then I get Bad BIOS Checksum. Checking for floppy... NO floppy! Checking for CD... Reading "K8V.ROM". Complete. Flash has failed! And it stops. lol

I don't smell anything, but the BIOS won't reflash no matter what I do.
