I will keep your family in my prayers also. I have been in 3 severe auto accidents, one not at fault when I was driving. Did they go in for X-Rays, I waited till the next morning after one and had 3 fractured vertabrae in lower back among other injuries. Definitely, the next morining thru about the third they will definitely feel worse than right after it happened. The night of the accident their adrenaline is pumping and they will not feel the pain that they are really in, but no matter what the severity you will definitely feel the aches and pains the next morning.
If they need Physical Therapy encourage them to stay with it. It will hurt like hell somedays, but the Physical Therapist know what they are doing so make sure they keep showing up to their appointments and doing the exercises. If their are no injuries that require Physcial Therapy and anyother treatment, and they are still sore give them some appointments with a Massage Therapist they can work wonders too. When I had the accident where I fractured my vertabrae I happened to be dating a Massage Therapist, she waited until I was cleared for Physical Therapy, 7.5 months and should have kept going after I moved, but she made me feel great after her massage treatment. Hope, my longwinded post can help some.
