Ya, you gotta watch that FASA.

Ummm, well your math class still counts as its a credit hour, wether or not it leads to your degree you are being charged by said credit hour and FASA pays according to the credit hour ;)

by Darthness » Sun Oct 08, 2006 8:18 am

not entirely sure yet. i think its because i'm take 4 classes (full time) but on eof my classes may be considered non-degree credit (because its a pre-requisit. math 101... testing scores > me.) so dropping enlgish may have dropped the financial aid.

Who are they charging you this?

You have a certain timeframe to drop, usually 1 week. Then 2 weeks total but must pay instructor fees. I did that and had to pay almost $250 fees and I never went a day...

thats the damn truth. although i'm in a community college so its not too bad, but if i was in a regular college, i'd be racking up the loans.

by Darthness » Sun Oct 08, 2006 7:28 am

Yeah i was accepted for a few loans but i didn't take them because i didn't need them (and didn't want to be in debt right now. maybe in a few months)

by solacedagony » Sun Oct 08, 2006 7:19 am

Yep, as soon as they give you the loan, they're loading on that interest :)
But what can you do? It's just too much money for any average, or even well off, family to take care of.

The community college I was going to, the amount they would loan wouldnt of even paid for books...

Be careful with these loans though. As soon as your out of school for 6 months you have to start paying it back...

Also its not free money. That money is going to cost more down the road when you repay it... My ex seems to think its free money, for the last 3-4 years.... lol, boy oh boy will she shit herself when she finds out how much her payments are going to be...

by CaptainPioneer » Sun Oct 08, 2006 6:37 am

yea why not go with a student loan? Im in my 3rd year here and my school for me is 20K a year and i know that when i get out i will be in debt at least 40-50k so check out for FAFSA loans

by Ryan from Ohio » Sun Oct 08, 2006 6:22 am

Like most Americans I got a fair amount of debt, its part of our lifestyle. Ive learned to cope with it and pay it as it comes.

I got about $10K altogether or so...

So if you only got $1700 relax, pay it over a year or so.

But beware, if you dont pay you will loose all your federal assistance (assuming you get it). I screwed up like that, didnt pay it within 30 days, bam.... done...

Like I said, dont screw up. Put it on a credit card tomorrow and start making them payments...
