I found with the stock radio in my car, that it will play burned CD's ONLY if you FINALIZE them.

Try finalizing a cd-r then play it. That should do the trick ;)

Ya, I have a 52x burner too. I burn the CD's for my dad's car at 52x with no problems. I guess I will be tossing this old HU in the trash. Time to go shopping for a new Alpine. :)

Hell I have a 52x and I burn them at 52x and not one problem at all.

Back when I had mine I'm pretty sure that my cd burner was only a 4x, but I'm not positive of that.

I have been using CD-R's. I was told to burn the CD's at 8x. True?

you can buy cd-r's and cd-rw's at Wal Mart or most other places similair.. cd-rw is just cd-re-writeable.. you'd want to match the burn speed of your cd burner to the burn speed that it says on the cd-r's.....

As in the music is not MP3 based. Just a copy of a cd might work for you. Check out the cd media...is it CD-R or CD-RW? That will make a huge difference.
That model can play cd-r's, but cannot play cd-rw. I am sure it was made back in '00 like you said. Check the media that you burned your music on. I would be willing to bet it is either CD-RW or MP3 encoded music
^No question about it. I had one of those and sold it for the Panasonic for just that reason. Stick with CD-R and you'll be fine, it won't do WMA either.

Well, It's quite, uhh... Old. I believe 2000 or so.

How old is that model? It may just not be compatible. I am unaware of anything you can do to make it work. However, if its possible, someone on here knows how.
