I want to post something and make a point. My car has just recently had a bad transmission problem and I might soon be in the market for another car, although the money will be very little. So until then, the money fopr audio is put on a halt. I'll just be chiming in from time to time to put in my two cents audio wise.

Welcome to CAC and since there is a lot of advice on this board it's not really necessary for me to chime in with my two bits.... I too live in Indiana though I'm up by Michigan but it's nice to see another hoosier on here. As far as I know (my memory sucks though) we make two on this board :P

i say go with the Type R with 500-1000rms

i love my Type R.. you will see alot of rant and rave about them, because they are great budget beaters with a little bit of sq.. mine sounds great on metal and rock, and can get down pretty well on rap... my box is 3cf tuned to 30hz, and the sub is powered by a JBL 600.1 and im running all 4gauge Knu Konceptz wire for it.. sounds great, couldnt be happier... it takes the abuse all day.. ofcourse i play it safe also.. dont crank it all day:-p and be careful with the gains.

this discussion should go to general discussion, and not in this area.
thanks

Also, remember that each company generally has its "niche" and good products in the market. I would consider Alpine to have higher quality HUs and processors than their speakers (although the subs aren't bad). Really what I'm getting at is that by going all one company in your car, you'll be cutting corners on yourself since most companies don't make all their different products to the same quality.

^x2 on the Cerwin Vega's

by Ryan from Ohio » Sun Sep 10, 2006 2:45 pm

I wouldnt bother with buying this stuff to try and sell it, you will loose money unless you literally get it dirt ass cheap ;)

If you interested int he kickers, good. THe CVR's look to be decent. Im not fond of the Type S alpine. Also look into the Cerwin Vega VMax subs, they look to be very potent subs!

We've had a lot of people here buy from woofersect.com but and from what I've seen they have had pretty good luck with them. The only downfall is that they are Not authorized distributors for everything they sell including some of the stuff they claim they are authorized for, so you may get only a warranty from them and not the manufacturer or the item may have no warranty at all. But a lot of people will over look that to get a better product at a better price.

Woofersetc.com

Ok, but still question remains unanswered. Is http://www.woofersetc.com a reliable place to buy audio equipment? And also, does anyone around here know a member that lives near Evansville, IN? It is like at the southern most point of Indiana, like a 20 min drive to Kentucky if you catch traffic right.
