Main difference is where the powerband lies, though. Lots of European cars are designed with super high RPMs in mind, many with a 9,000 rpm redline. Doesn't necessarily make them better, just a different driving style.

Actually the biggest difference between our cars and european models is our own government regulations. Get your ecu recalibrated and you'd be amazed at the driving difference.

Aside from stricter rules, European cars are designed with high speed usage in mind. They handle better and the powertrain is smoother at the top end. They're also tiny and to us would be too uncomfortable, so pick your poison.

Our cars are designed with a crappy driver in mind, and comfort and convenience. Massive understeer, highly assisted steering, front wheel drive, and many more things equate to poor handling characteristics.

yea, there is no speed limit, but as long as you arent driving wreckless.

by Ryan from Ohio » Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:04 pm

I think thats the state with a judgement speedlimit. If a cop or such sees you driving wreckless you can still be cited.

by brent » Thu Aug 24, 2006 1:54 pm

I remember a few years back hearing that in Montana I believe it was, the speed limit was abolished except for in towns. Does anyone know anything about that?

by Ryan from Ohio » Thu Aug 24, 2006 1:49 pm

The unposted minimum speedlimit in ohio is 10 MPH under whats posted.

So if shes doing 45 in a 60 shes breaking the law and can be cited. Besides that shes making the highway super dangerous...

Well I hate tailgaters!! I speed most of the time, so when they tailgate me I get a little aggravated.. but I digress from the subject. I would love it if the installed this as a law in my state!

Yea, these people are idiots. That lady is trying to cause an accident.

You'd be suprized at how many people don't even want to be curtious.
I was talking with a woman the other day that actually told me that she only does 45mph on the freeway in the left lane (supposedly so people can use the on ramp easier) and if a car flashes her (as into say "could you allow me to pass").... she actually slows down just to irritate them. I told her that she is now considered to be impeding traffic and she could get ticketed for that.
Apparently she did not know that and is now slightly rethinking her choices.
