Ah ok, thanks for that tidbit. I can't afford the Lotus drivers or I'd be all over them. Any thoughts on that tweeter or tweeters you would recommend?

BTW, I'd take the Exclusives over the SEAS Standard stuff you're looking at (CA18RNX). Excels and Exclusives are a better comparison.

SEAS just came out with their new Lotus stuff. The mid has a new motor design giving it a higher Qts, so it should have much more midbass output in a car door compared to the previous driver. Tweeter has also been revised for better top end performance. Should be kickass :D

Aight, so i'll get a friend to help me out and hold the drivers in different spots, pointing different ways and we'll figure out something for the old truck!

Not always. It worked out well in the accord, but every car is diffrent. Your best bet is to just play with it, and go from there.

So what would the optimum locations for speakers be? Equidistant from each other and you, on-axis?

I did a basic tune, to match the car, and then aimed from there.

But, you want the install to do 90 % of the tuning itself. So the less you have to tune, and the more you can do with the install the better.

I personally would spend a little time aiming them first, to get a decent image. Then once you started playing with the phase and tuning, it will improve from there. I am certain that you will likely have to do some more aiming and tweaking after that to get it "just right", but just starting with stock location will not result in as good of a finished product.

wow, I can't wait to try all this out! Thanks sooooo much!

Ok, so when aim the drivers, should I aim them first and then tune or is going to be an aim, tune, aim, tune, etc, etc?
