Unfortunately, we sourced some baskets overseas, that were stuck in customs for nearly a month! On top of that, there's some special plating I want to do to these heavy motor structures that present some challenges.
However, I may have a small quantity ready fairly soon, perhaps with a black zinc type plating on the motor, and I was even thinking about doing something different with the dustcaps - to create sort of a special beta release, since otherwise we're likely looking two months out for the big sub.
But that's not such a bad thing, since the little sub is a great overacheiver (it sent our big sub back for a bit of an enlarged motor - we increased our BL from "about what the W7 has", to "nearly twice what the W7 has" mainly to accomplish things that a W7 simply can't. :happy055: ).
We've got a release of them in 10's in a few weeks, followed in about a month by 12's. It's a simpler sub, less expensive, stamped basket - but lots of technology that isn't cheap, like a full pole-cap style shorting ring, and one kick-ass motor that makes sure BL is up there (pole-cap shorting rings can be BL killers - our BL with this sub is around 22), and still a decent excursion level, works in super-tiny enclosures - a 0.5 cu.ft. sealed box still yields a 0.85 Qtc - hardly a squeeze!
Anyway - like it, or like the big sub - the little guy (codename: Response) will be released first. :thumbsup
But I should be releasing that special Beta release of that big sub that won't be really advertised much - I'd like to get that into appreciative enthusiasts hands anyway really.
Well, back on topic now... :p
hmmmm.... can i use these for DB Drag :p

The Steg amps look really nice - ideally, they seem even nicer than the Audison amps that they replace (ORCA, who formerly imported Audison, has decided to import these - being Audison's biggest competitor in Italy ;) ). I believe there are internal shots at http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/.

However, when the rubber hits the road, it's simply disappointing that by price, the STEG amps compete more with the VRX's in price - and even the LRX Audison amps were expensive, and the SRx's hardly cheap. :(
Not many of us are looking for amps in the $1000-$4000 range.

I'm disappointed, because Audison did have price points that scaled down into "accessible" territory, and they were quality product.
With STEG, no doubt that it's quality (and thank god crossover filters and processors aren't "ala carte" like they were with the VRx amps  ), but who cares when we're talking Ferarri, not BMW. A BMW, I might consider investing in. I wouldn't argue a Ferarri as an investment, but not one that's likely attainable for most of us. :sad017:
