But its still not a true gps system. It can only show where you are on the map you download. If you decide to take a detour your screwed.

yea i just found it...

but the program is still a downloadable map sequence. But yes, the satallite knows where you are with that product.

Also the 8445 or 8455 will do what you want, Eclipse is very expensive on HD radio and only about 15% of the stations nationwide are using the format, so for my 400 bucks, I can't justify it. YOu can get Sirius satellite radio through the 8445, 8455, cd5000 and cd 7000 I believe. This is a better option cause it is still CD-quality reception.

Just my offering of bs on this forum. Do with it as you will.

although out of the box this is true, you can buy a gps add on for the cd7000 for around 200 bucks, probably less on ebay. and it will tell you where you are and change the map accordingly, as well as use the gps for other functions like a compass and what have you.

This isnt as hot as The Pouring floor at a foundry but it would make u hurt if u had to work in small attics Installing Air Ducts or even worse the small crawl spaces u have to get into to do demo work in a house... I have done all of that crap and i dont think ill ever do it again... I hate the feeling of Fiberglass insulation on my skin and then on top of that being about 120 in that attic

by GlassWolf » Tue Jul 25, 2006 6:18 am

want hot?
try the pouring floor at an iron foundary.

i do like the fact that eclipse made the cd7000 with a detatchable faceplate. between going to school in flint, michigan and always going home to youngstown ohio, trust me, people in both places are shady as hell and not the brightest. and when they see a nice looking deck in a lone car, their gunna break in and take it whether or not they know they cant use it later. even if i just throw it in the console... the vast majority of people arent going to break into a car with a good security system for a deck with the face off on the off chance that the person left the faceplate in the car somewhere. just my 2 cents, and the only reason keeping me from getting a 8445.

Yeah don't get high def radio. If you want better sound from the radio go with sat.

No you don't have to pay for GPS. The airforce controls the satalites, and anyone can pick up the signal and use it.
