ok thanks for the help man will let you know how goes tommorrow :sm29:

by Justin from Detroit1 » Wed Jun 21, 2006 6:27 pm

face them towards the rear of the trunk, usually much louder.

by pcdipsetbg » Wed Jun 21, 2006 6:16 pm

i have them in a sealed enclosure 1.0 cubic ft. with subs facing up

by Justin from Detroit1 » Wed Jun 21, 2006 6:03 pm

it will hurt the amp and the subs over time. You have reached the maximum output of that setup. Upgrade, or increase power if you are under powering.

Bass should not be heard outside of the vehicle. Stand next to either of my cars and you won't hear any bass, unless a window is open. Properly sound deaden your vehicle and it may get louder. The louder it is outside, the quiter it is inside.

Also, which way do you have the subs facing?

well today i fine tuned the amp so the clipping meter hit right below the red, however it doesnt seem that loud when sitting in the car it is enough to rock the mirrors and outside the car you can here bass and inside house you can here somewhat but it isnt much thump to it, if i run it in the red clipping a little bit will it hurt the subs?

Ok thanks for all the help swimmerdude and justin from detroit....will let you know how it goes when i get off work tommorrow and do that. Thanks again guys!

by swimmerdude » Tue Jun 20, 2006 7:03 pm

yessir, doing that you only use the level knob. All the others have a specific place to be.

by pcdipsetbg » Tue Jun 20, 2006 7:00 pm

so basically like justin said turn my system up to the max volume id listen to it on any day and set my controls on the amp down right below the clipping and it should be ok?

by swimmerdude » Tue Jun 20, 2006 6:45 pm

the FAQ is your best friend my man!! Like Justin said, LPF at around 80hz, Bass Boost off because it will just cause clipping, subsonic filters are mainly used with ported box's and the level is actually the input sensitivity. Mainly, you want to match the input sensitivity to your HU's pre-out voltage, but just turning it up until it distorts then turning back a tad works well too.

well on mine i have bass boost screw to select the level of boost then i have a lpf which is set around 50 i would say and then i have a level screw, if i turn the level screw down what will that do? of course it is too late to mess with it tonight its about 11 here and my neighbors would hate me forever so i have to mess with it tommorrow after work... but what is that level screw for? it also has a sub sonic screw...what the hell is that? lol im a newbie sorry for all the questions
