Sorry bout the language! Gets outta hand, your right about that. I am to blame for that alot!! Sorry Teacher, don't make me stand in the corner! :(
EDIT: While on the subject, what do you guys think of butane soldering torches? Mainly the weller, and one other high end torch on Parts Express. Will post it in a sec.Image

I feel ya there.. the pen is just better at not damaging the LEDs when soldering the leads. The gun gets so hot it will actually melt the LEDs before you can heat the wire enough to liquify the solder for a good connection. This way you'll have working LEDs when you finish :)

my dad picked up a soldering iron such as described at walmart today... but it still ticks me off that the tip broke :P

if you're soldering LEDs, you should be using a 15/30 watt soldering pen.
you're using the wrong tool for the job to begin with. Pick up a 30 wat pen at radio shack for $10 and try that.

wow yeah i broke my penis one time and.....well not really. I was trying to empathize with him. Tips don't cost much bro, just go to the "shack" they have tips for weller guns.
