THe only thing you can really do now is swap for another amp, or swap your amp into someone elses car. That will let you know 100% what the problem is.
uhm all the wires were still ran to them but the xover ---> amp was unplugged.

and kevin, the rcas for that amp are run down the center console of the car, the 12v wire is run down the left side, so they are about 2feet away.

i will try the amp swapping and see if i get some luck

[quote="lotas"]i will pull it out and take a look at them...but i dunno if that would affect it.

speakerman - i dont know if you mean outside the doors literally or just other speakers :P if you mean it literally no, but I did hook up some small 3" speakers and i had the same problem, one output was larger than other.

I will end up taking it to a shop if the problem pertains when i re-do my install in a couple weeks, gonna mount the x-overs in the trunk which should solve my noise problem cause i think its by some wires in the door (dunno for sure).

anyways i think ill just ship my car to the get-together so you guys can look at it ]

I just thought of one more thing to ask. Did you run the power wire (from your battery) along side the RCA's to the amp? Sometimes this will cause interference and create unexpected problems. Not sure if this is the case, but just thought I would ask. Good luck and I hope you find a solution soon. I know from personal experience just how frustrating these problems can be :sad017:

I blew two Diamond subs last year and couldn't figure out why until I removed the magnet covers and realized that the guy had sold me the wrong model numbers and I gave them twice their recommended wattage. Boy did they hit hard for 2 days though :)

Keep us updated!!

Did you ever try hooking up some speakers to the amp outside of the doors? Just some test speakers... so you'll know if its a speaker wire issue somewhere in the runs.

This is starting to get really confusing. It may be time to take it into a shop and let them have a quick peak at it.

Never know, it may be just something that nobody can think of off hand, or something you may not have mentioned. Often times if they fix it under a few minutes they let ya walk for free ;)

no its still messed up, i have it balanced to 20 on one side.

im a bit hesitant doing this so here is my question

the right speaker is wayyy louder, therefore I think its getting more wattage than the left (but it might be the opposite, the left is getting less) but i dont think so becuase the speaker is incredibly loud at lowish volumes. Anyways, if it is getting more watts, its getting more heat. When you use the balance on a HU, is that (in the end) actually going to send the speaker less heat?

So basically does the balance tell the amp to send less output to one of the sides, or is it something more simple than that?

\where im going with this is although the speakers are now balanced, the right one might be getting too much constant wattage.

i dunno, just trying to think of anything that could be damaging until i do my false floor project.
thanks
