As some of you may remember I posted about how my cousin bought a 97 blazer from a used car dealership. The dealer didnt get it inspected as he was surpose to, so my cousin took in and it failed, needed both lower ball joints. After a long fight with the dealership they finally agreed to pay for the new balljoints...
So he pays the shop that inspected it to install the lower ball joints. He picks the truck up and within two miles the front drivers side tire about falls off.. Onto a tow truck and back to the shop. The shop didnt put the axle nut back on (which is what holds the wheel bearing together) so now it needs a wheel bearing. Obviously the shop replaces that free of charge (their fault).
He picks the truck up and as he pulls out of the shop he hears a pop, so now he takes it to another shop and tells them to go over it. The next day they call him and inform him that he needs upper ball joints and front shocks. FREAKIN CRAP!
He finally does the right thing and makes an appointment with my uncles shop. This morning he goes to the parts store and picks up the parts and takes them to my uncles shop. My uncle jacks it up and the balljoints and shocks are fine. Already having the parts he goes ahead and has my uncle put them on anyways.
Now, when installing the parts my uncle notices that the drivers side upper control arm is slighty bent (from the wheel bearing problem), just enough to cause it to make contact with something else during sharp turns, which is responsible for the pop... Yay..
It also needs the inner tie rod and idler arm on the drivers side...
Plus the engine started running ruff... So awhile it was out there they hooked it up to the scanner, throw five codes..
P0113 - Intake Air Temperature [IAT] Sensor Circuit High Voltage
P0131 - HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0151 - HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1
P0171 - Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1
P0174 - Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2
So yeah, he still loves the truck and is going to fix it, but god damn...
This all reminds me of the movie (the money pit)
