h/t related xover/impedance ?

by crzystng » Wed Feb 23, 2005 3:03 pm

ok, I am wanting to do something a little better for my h/t setup (seings how my car audio is sounding better than the h/t he he) while looking at some raw drivers I am kinda puzzled with impedances and xover points.

If I use a single 4 ohm driver in the 3way setup when i build the xovers should I build them stricly for that 4 ohm driver? if so then how will the 8 ohm impedance of the reciever deal with that? would the input from the reciever effect the xover at all?
I would jsut use two drivers in series but that is going to affect the sound in the rears once they are done. not to mention they will also look like the center and top portions of the towers once they are all done up.
