^x2,

It seems like the JBL amps are a great bang for the buck amp. You might be able to find a kickerkx1200.1 for about that much too.

try to find a JBL 1200.1.. JBL BP1200.1 or JBL Power Vavle 1200.1.. its all the same amp, but thats just what they are called.. great amps for the money, i have a 600.1 and its been great..

also i have a 12" Type R right now, in a 3cf box tuned to 30hz powered by my JBL 600.1 and it slams hard..they will take WELL over their recommended RMS..

you really don't need that much power fr two type Rs. do you have the electrical system to handle that much current? You'd be fine with 600-800wRMS total between them.

the company is JBL and it is the GTO series. They are pretty solid amps i would have to say. They are a pretty good bang for your buck type of amp.

Never heard of GTO are they any good?

Umm... a Hifonics Bxi1206d would be in that price range. If you spend a little bit more you could get a JBL GTO1201.1. For only $250, its gonna be hard to get an amp that pushes 1200rms from a decent company.

Amp suggestions ?

by Rave'n » Sun May 28, 2006 5:53 am

I have 2 4 ohm Alpine R's 500 RMS a piece

I want a good 1200-1400 watt mono amp @ 1ohm
Or a 2 channel amp bridgeable to 4 ohms that is ~1200-1400 actual RMS
But I want to get one for ~$250

I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks, Rave'n
