So your going with two comp 10's then right? Why not two 12's? For my 600rms I went with 4g, I'd do the same for 500rms. knuknoceptz have 4g kits for like 20-25. 200 watts each should have them wangin just fine.

the amp will be putting out 400w, the subs handle 250.

im actually trying to find an amp that'll do 500w @ 2 ohms, any ideas?

http://www.streetwires.com/products/wireGauge.cfm

someone sent me that link... its a nice little site... if your only running 250 RMS i think you would be fine

I would not put 500w RMs to a Comp, that is crazy. They are 250w RMS, 500 max. 8 gauge should be ok, just monitor it. If the wire feels warm at all, then time to upgrade to 4 gauge.

btw so are we saying that 8guage will be fine for that amp? otherwise i have to run another powerwire... or upgrade to 1/0 gauge, which im not really wanting to do atm.

by Darthness » Wed Jan 25, 2006 6:25 pm

they're rated for 220w RMS, im not really trying to risk blowing them, i'm ona tight budget ya know.

i reckon............althought the subs will easily handle more than that.......i have yet to put less than 500 per sub to any comp 10 or 12..........

If i were to buy this amp: http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/2119 for my new Eleveation comp 10's, would i be safe using 8guage wiring with it? i'd be running it at 2 ohms, 400w.
