There are certain frequencies people use for setting the gain on the amplifier (such as 1000 Hz for mids) and when competing, some people have the time to plot out their vehicle's resonant frequency and burp at that frequency. People who don't know their frequency just use sweeps. You can also use test tones to adjust the EQ on a head unit or external EQ.

yea autosound 2000 has a nice one.....they have a ton of uses....polarity, sweeps, used for setting up ;your front stage and for setting eq using an rta.......

What are those test tone cds and what are they used for? are they used for tuning your system? or what?
