just say what I say when I'm being an ass.... "It's part of my charm so don't make me slap the shit out of you"

well my bad on that one... im going on 2 horus of sleep here, give me a little bit of a break :P but if money was no option, i'd shoot for the JL's. Why? I like JL- they make good stuff.. if i had $2000 to drop on sub amps and the 1000/1's suited my needs, i'd go for it. (i'd never buy an amp like that on ebay... no warrenty, probably has the serials scratched off or what ever people do so JL can't track them). Plus, i have zero expierience with US amps and have heard that their quality is declining. And will.. i'm not arguing what you say, but why exactly is that.. if you have 3 amps (1 2000w and 2 1000) coming from the same manufacturer/same line of product with basically everything the same except output.. why would there be a difference?

Btw, stfo, sorry if i came on as a bit too much of an ass. again, the 2 hours of sleep thing is screwing with my head.

He is correct. No amplifier is 100% efficient. There will always be losses. So in essence, if you have 3 amps, two 1000 watt and one 2000 watt, considering that each amp is identically efficient, the single 2000 watt will draw slightly less amperage than two separate.

Its called good advice I believe, why are you so negative towards what I am saying? Your a JL dealer aren't you, yeeeeees
No hes not, I believe he's 17 or 18? Still in h.s. workin at mcy d's :) something like that. And whos to say JL amps are over priced anyway? If someone wants to spend that money, and get what they want. Then to them it's worth it. US amps isn't what it use to be. Not built in Florida anymore, and has moved overseas I believe.

Or pay $500 for an amplifier that will do MORE than those two combined.
If you need 2000 watts, why would having MORE then what you need so good? And 500 or a 2000 watt and MORE seems a lil cheap to me. Hell the Elevation audio DX1500 were $900 msrp, but wouldn’t be to much lower in a shop. So all in all it's really just your opinion on which amp is better. In YOUR situation, the US amps may be a better choice. But for someone else’s, the JL's might be better for them.

actually, no he is not

I think you should get the Audison VRX1.500

at 1 ohm you are at a blistering 2000watts. Now go out and get one cause they are only 2000 bucks. a dollar/watt.

Darthness wrote:you're full of it. you're comparing an amp that puts out 2000w to an amp thats only designed to put out 1000w... I could see the JL amps claimed 3000w and only did 1000... but they do what they say they will. and 2000watts with 1 amp or 40 amps draws the same amount of current, only differences on amp efficency & voltage.... and another thing, a 1000/1 puts out 1000w from 12-15 volt, 1-4ohms, you probably have to run that us amps amp at 1ohm or less to get anywhere near 3000w which = less efficeiency, less life time
Holy hostility lol, listen to what you said. "you're full of it. you're comparing an amp that puts out 2000w to an amp thats only designed to put out 1000w"

Nooo, im compairing how ONE amp will accomplish what TWO JL amps will do, as this is what he would need to get the full potential out of both his subs.
Does JL have an amp that that pushes more? No.... so he needs to buy 2 1000/1's which are overpriced in many peoples opinions including myself.

He could pay $1200 for 2 JL 1000/1's (approx price on Ebay)

Or pay $500 for an amplifier that will do MORE than those two combined.

all i was saying is that it doesn't make up for a crappy/stock electrical system not designed for an aftermarket stereo.
