Well you may not have any groupies, but you'll always have Rosie Palmer!

Well, you can use any battery as a starter battery as long as it provides enough current.

I had a rule of thumb for Optima colors:
Red - starter/primary battery
Yellow - extra audio only battery
blue - marine

Some yellow tops are deep cycle for use as starting also.

Some are just "marine" deep cycles...

I think they have a blue marine also...

I have a yellow top and 770cca. The red top was the same...now the Yellowtops are also starter batteries as well as deep cycle.

k thanks looks like im gettin a red top

by Bwcad1 » Thu Dec 15, 2005 8:32 am

yea you add yellows in the back for acc. power the reds are better under the hood

by Justin from Detroit1 » Thu Dec 15, 2005 8:29 am

No, little cheaper I think. They are made to start cars, where the Yellow ones are made as accessory batteries. Not as many CCA, not really made to start a car.

by lost05 » Thu Dec 15, 2005 8:28 am

ok are they more expensive or what? better

by Justin from Detroit1 » Thu Dec 15, 2005 8:27 am

Get a Red Top, not a Yellow Top, for under the hood.
