yea i agree its a pain in the ass! ive learned a lil trick pull your wipers off the windshield before you go in for the night they wont get frozen to the windshiled and you wont have to knock ice of them and ruin them!

for mornings like today where i had to brush about 6 inches of snow off my car before work, i wish it had yet to get freezing up here....

by William from NOLA » Fri Dec 09, 2005 8:43 am

It has yet to even get to freezing here...

if i keep my ipod in my car over a really cold night, it worknt work... thats about all the trouble ive had due to the temp.

by Jszar » Thu Dec 08, 2005 3:38 pm

the temperature won't hurt the amp, what will hurt you is the moisture. if there is that much moisture in your car, enough to condense on your speakers, then that is a sign that you have a busted seal somewhere. as soon as your amp or speakers warm up, that ice will melt...buh bye amp or speaker. if that's a normal thing for you, i'd refrain from even having the power and ground hooked up. its just asking for a disaster. its possible that ice would condense over the - and + terminal...i wouldn't flirt with that possibility.

my amps were frosted the other morning...it was -10degrees or so when i went out in the morning and it was frozen, so i just didnt play it. frozen amp cant be good.

Uhh That Is By Far My Most Hated Issue The Damn Ground Loop... Ick That Just A Pain In The Ass.

by smoker » Thu Dec 08, 2005 1:38 pm

i like it when people want the amp mounted to their box and want like 4 extra ft. of wire so they can slide everything forward onto the backseat when they need to get the spare.......the occassional ground loop is good for ya........

by Justin from Detroit1 » Thu Dec 08, 2005 12:55 pm

Yea, that won't work as a ground.

Thanks for the assurance guys as well as the advice. I'll get to it as soon as exams are done with. My car is old and the the trunk is really rusty so that is probably why the moisture gets in. By the way, I had the ground wire attacted to a bolt on the trunk hinge.
