by ear, and with a scope.

hmm, Kiki how do You go about fine tuning your stuff? the way i do it(which probably is wrong) is turn it up to where its fairly loud and go from there, treble, bass, fader....etc..

by GlassWolf » Mon Dec 06, 2004 5:34 pm

what exactly is the problem you're having?
reading the Alpine's manual usually helps. there is a SUB on/off setting for the sub out RCAs.
be sure the sub amp is connected to the sub outputs and not F/R outs.
also check both sub level, and XO point which should be around 60-80Hz.

I just got done putting the basslink on my infinity gold OEM system in the jeep.. man what a difference. passive radiator systems are so nicely efficient. what a pleasant difference. had to test it out a little with some madonna, sypress hill, crystal method, and public enemy.. then fine tune it with sarah mclachlah and sting.

I probably cant this weekend... I have to do some work on my truck as well as my sisters car, but some other time for sure. I don't have anything other than infinity ref 6.5's and a pioneer deh-2300 install right now, so dont feel bad.

hmmm i can go there this weekend if you want, no big deal.. not a 100% on if i can for sure but ill let you know. couple of problems with the sub/amp is the gains have to be all the way up and crap to even hear it, so ill mess with the xovers on the cd player and what not.... it isnt raining today, well yet... so hopefully ill getter fixed.

Next time you are in St.louis let me know, maybe we could meet up and cause some trouble... I'm about a hour west of the STL, but I go up there fairly often... :s_thumbup

:D :D !!!!!!! Tempest throws the F down. :D :D i dont think my friends dad has it wired right, but i didnt want to mess with it right then because its raining and what not, so ill check it out when it isnt raining, but damn is it loud as hell, being that its tuned to 28hz it doesnt play the bass on some songs too loud but i can still hear it, but playing some rap and bass stuff its friggin loud. ill mess with everything soon and hopefully it will be even louder, its so clean and just.....amazing! well worth the price. i am very pleased. although i went ahead and bought a Scosche amp kit from Wal Mart a few days ago because i was tired of waiting on the one from Knu Konceptz, the one from KK should be here any day, i dunno if i wanna take out the amp kit i have in there already and replace with it with the KK one, i know it will be worth it, but after all that trouble of figuring out what was wrong i dont know if i want to take the chance again, i dunno ill think about it some more. right now im just happy that its doin! :)

some of you may know that i am having trouble with my system. ive tried everything, first i thought it was the amp, but i hooked it up and it worked, then i thought it might be the Tempest, but i hooked it up to another amp it worked.... i was talking to my friend crzystng and he gave me a few ideas to what it could be and helped me find the sub option on the cd player (damn Alpine is confusing), but that still didnt do any good! i have no idea to what it could be, i will go over the wiring again and try another ground point... i was at a car audio shop yesterday and he tested the amp, it works but it isnt getting any signal so maybe its the cd players rca's or something.. any ideas people? because this is gettin ridiculous.
