excessive amperage alternators (my sponsor) the orginal 200 amp was 310 and the rebuild is costing me 50 dollars.

Hey Bill, what is that costing ya to get that Alt. rewound and where ya sending it?

by mcaudio » Tue Nov 22, 2005 8:06 pm

i contemplated doing a blowthru, but i think i'm going to go with a set of buckets, and a custom console with sub mouted as far forward as possible(center passenger begone!)lol
this is my truck, we have an explorer to haul the wife and kid around in.i'm trying to go after the best sq i can achieve, besides, never been able to get that total "bass upfront" with conventionally mounted subs.(behind me)no matter how steep or how low i cross em over at,to me they still sound like they r behind me.

ok, i am starting a new project,(93 chev c/k reg cab),
Are you doing a blow thru, cuz I have a reg cab, and it’s damn nearing impossible to fit anything in there. Listen to what Ryan said, you will need to defiantly beef up your electrical system, but I'm sure you know that. I thought you were doing one type r anyway?

Yup^ Im Sending My 200 Amp In For A Rebuild Up To 275 Amp

Get the right sized alternator you wont really need a second battery...

by mcaudio » Tue Nov 22, 2005 9:41 am

i am getting an alternator, still wanna run 2 bats tho......

by Bwcad1 » Tue Nov 22, 2005 5:35 am

yup get a bigger alternator!!! unless you already have one!(excessive amperage alternators)

by mcaudio » Tue Nov 22, 2005 5:27 am

that's what i thought, damn thiings almost useless then....

by Ryan from Ohio » Tue Nov 22, 2005 4:17 am

70 amps? You need to have one rated for alternator output, whatever that may be.

Your battery wont charge unless your alternator can put out enough to run all items and have access amperage/voltage...
