It does sound like the memory (constant) wire is either disconnected, or the fuse has popped.
I would start with that.

Memory Power Wire

My am/fm stereo cassette player is new in my car but when I press and hold the buttons for five seconds as per the instructions it won't save any stations. It is in a restoration project so it's been over a year since it was installed . I don't remember what type of connectors I used so I'm wondering if the orange memory wire came loose when the dash was pushed back into position . I assume with no power at this wire that it will not pre-set the stations initially along with saving them . I would just check to see if the wire is connected but it is in a Corvette and the dash is hard to remove . If this could cause the problem then I will remove the dash to correct the problem . Thanks for any replies.
